Since the war has begun our work priorities in Moldova has completely changed. Thousands of refugees from Ukraine are fleeing to Moldova. Before they can get through they must wait hours and even days in long lines at the border.Currently we are trying to provide coffee, tea, soup, and sandwiches for these people. Most of the refugees are coming through the northern border of Moldova. Most of those that have vehicles are driving further west. There are many who do not have vehicles or can not go further. Those who are here, we are transporting with our vehicles to churches and private homes throughout all of Moldova. All workers, missionaries and churches are working together.
In Chisinau, we are currently trying to accommodate as many refugees as possible. All together we can house up to 52 people in the HTO guesthouse, office, and other living spaces. We are also in the process of clearing out the storage rooms and stocking them with mattresses. 19 people are living at my house and my wife is cooking for them. Their future is precarious and uncertain. A 17 year old girl is among them. She used to live in the Donetsk region, but when the war started there in 2014, her family lost everything and they had to flee to western Ukraine. She was about nine years old at the time. Rockets began to fall again near their house and they have had to leave everything behind and flee the country altogether. This has had a great emotional impact on the girl. Please pray for her!
We are currently working at full speed to expand our work among the refugees.
Thank you for being with us with your hearts! Please continue to pray for us and all the people affected by this situation. Eduard Edu, Head of Mission Moldova
