The Work Continues!

More than two weeks ago, many things changed for us as a relief organization and for our employees in the East.  The previously difficult situation of many people in Ukraine has become much more dramatic due to the war and some of the established structures have now collapsed. Nevertheless, the work continues, and even though much has changed, our mission remains the same: We want to help people and bring them new hope through word and bread.  The people in the East need this hope now more than ever! Our staff have quickly adapted to the new situation and are doing amazing things – despite rocket fire and the partially collapsed infrastructure in the country. Again and again we are amazed how they help the people through creative ideas and inexhaustible motivation and how they are a role model in faith. Here are a few examples of what is currently happening in Ukraine and Moldova:
In Bravicea (Moldova), the parish has made its premises available to some refugees.  They receive overnight accommodation, food, clothing and some pocket money there.  Something similar is going on in many other Moldovan communities.
The church in Tiraspol (Moldova, Transnistria) continues to operate its soup kitchen and distribute food to the people of the city.
Every day at the Moldovan border crossings, relief supplies and food are distributed and shelters are provided.  Thousands of new refugees arrive in the small country every day.

In the city of Pokrovsk (Eastern Ukraine) and the surrounding villages, relief supplies and medicine are distributed.
The bakery continues to produce hundreds of loaves of bread a day, which are then given away.  Encouraging devotions are also held to give people hope.

In Kurakhovka, the community received 100 liters of milk.  Alexander together with his father was able to distribute them to sponsor families and other people of need throughout the village.
In Avdeevka, food and water continue to be distributed to sponsored children and families.
The sponsorship project is continued where possible.  Here, for example, in Lviv.

In cooperation with the Baptist Union and other organizations, our workers in Lviv help in a large warehouse.  This hall, and others, serve as distribution centers of food and relief goods for people in need.
The team of the Lviv church helps with unloading, sorting and distributing.
Currently, we are planning to send three trucks to bring more urgently needed goods to the East.  Two of them will go to this camp, and one to Moldova. One truck is already on its way from Switzerland.
Thank you very much for the abundant donations in kind that we have received for this purpose!

Food for community members who have hosted refugee families.
Together with Pastor Yura, the Lviv church sent a car with food to Christians in Kiev who remained there and are hiding from the shelling.
